R.I.P. EMPIRE ROLLER STAKING

After fighting many legal battles in court over the past decade as of Monday, April 23rd Empire Roller Skating was officially shut down due to many violent events that occurred after the shows. For Brooklyn natives this is devastating news since the building is filled with so much history. Despite the two lines that stretched half-way down the block on both sides of the building every Saturday, the city failed to recognize that this building’s opened doors were much needed. The bass from favorite songs vibrating the side doors kept roller skaters motivated to stay on line in the freezing cold and wait patiently. Many known Brooklyn artist like Little Vicious, F-A-B-O-L-O-U-S, Wyclef Jean, and Foxy Brown just to name a few, not only performed here, but also shot music videos behind those blue metal doors that are now closed. With that said, R.I.P. Empire Roller Skating.
